Open Freestyle sessions give skaters dedicated ice time to practice skills, work with coaches, and pursue their love of the sport.

Practice ice for figure skaters.
Open Freestyle sessions are dedicated ice time for figure skaters to practice skills individually or receive private lessons from their coach. Sessions are structured, focused, and limited to 18 skaters, so there's always room to work.
Open Freestyle is open to skaters at Basic 4 / Adult Advanced 4 level and above. Skaters below that level are welcome with a coach present on the ice.
Open Freestyle sessions are $18 per person. Check the calendar for current session times.
Things to know before you skate
⚠️You must register and pay in advance. Walk-on skaters will not be allowed on the ice.
📅Registration opens 30 days before each session and closes 1 minute before the session start time.
👥Sessions are limited to 18 skaters to ensure quality ice time for everyone.
🩰Open to skaters at Basic 4 / Adult Advanced 4 and above, or below that level with a coach on the ice.
❌Skaters not working on skills or engaging in horseplay will be asked to leave the ice.
↩️Cancellations are allowed for full credit up until the session start time. No refunds. Email us to cancel your registration.
💳Late registration is not allowed. Unregistered skaters will be charged the session fee plus a $3 late fee, payable before their next session.
Figure Skating Club of Madison
The Figure Skating Club of Madison (FSCM) is a non-profit organization whose members work together to promote, foster, and support figure skating in the greater Madison area.
The FSCM is a United States Figure Skating (USFS) member club. The club skates out of Hartmeyer and a key partner in keeping the sport thriving on Madison's east side.
