Part-Time Zamboni Driver
East Madison Ice Collective is looking for a reliable, friendly person to help keep the ice at Hartmeyer in great shape. You'll run the Zamboni, handle routine rink upkeep, and be a welcoming presence during public skates, practices, games, and tournaments. No experience driving a Zamboni? That's fine — we'll train you.
Schedule & Pay
- Variable hours — evenings, weekends, and special events
- Hourly, based on experience
- Start date: flexible
What You'll Do
Ice resurfacing & rink operations
- Operate the Zamboni safely to resurface the ice on schedule
- Monitor ice conditions and do supplemental maintenance as needed
- Maintain proper water levels, blade sharpness, and machine cleanliness
- Follow all safety and operating protocols for ice equipment
Facility maintenance
- Help with setup and teardown (nets, benches, dividers, equipment)
- Basic cleaning of the ice area, locker rooms, and lobby
- Minor upkeep — trash removal, sweeping, spot mopping
- Report maintenance issues promptly
Guest experience & safety
- Be a friendly, professional presence during shifts
- Uphold rink rules and safety standards for everyone
- Answer guest questions and offer basic help when needed
What We're Looking For
- At least 18 years old (required to operate the Zamboni)
- Valid driver's license
- Zamboni experience preferred but not required — training provided
- Comfortable operating mechanical equipment after training
- Able to work independently and take responsibility
- Able to lift 40–50 lbs and handle physical rink tasks
- Reliable and punctual
